Short abstract

Synthesising beyond-growth initiatives and co-creating future scenarios

Project description

WISE stands for Wellbeing, Inclusion, Sustainability & the Economy. Wellbeing is about average wellbeing of the current generation. Inclusion relates to the distribution of wellbeing, both within and between countries. Sustainability relates to the wellbeing of future generations.

The WISE Horizons project seeks to facilitate and accelerate a systemic change in society by creating a framework based on the current post-growth narratives, policies, and initiatives. It will create a synthesis of WISE indicators – presented in a special database – and WISE models to transform modelling and policymaking.

WISE Horizons will inform and accelerate the transition to a new economic paradigm with wellbeing, inclusion and sustainability at its core. The project will create a state-of-the-art theoretical framework which synthesises the current post-growth initiatives through a novel and open access WISE accounting framework.
