Which research methods do scholars of public international law use? Researchers at Leiden University in the Netherlands are collecting information about the research methods used across the globe in the field of public international law.

A team of researchers at Leiden University is collecting information about the methods used by researchers in the field of public international law. The research team consists of Cecily Rose, Misha Plagis, Johanna Trittenbach, and Nicholas McGuire. Our survey includes questions about the background, current position, research methods, and publication choices made by researchers in public international law.
The goal of this research project is to foster a better understanding of what kinds of methods are being used by researchers in the field of public international law and the factors that inform their choices.
We invite anyone who identifies as a researcher in public international law to participate in our survey. The survey should take you less than ten minutes to complete. Your participation in our study is voluntary, and you can terminate your participation at any time, for any reason. The research team can be contacted at: methodssurvey@law.leidenuniv.nl
