Esteban Szmulewicz speaks at Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw
As part of his PhD trajectory, Esteban Szmulewicz was invited to give a presentation at a seminar titled 'Challenges of representative and participatory constitution-making: insights from the recent Chilean processes'. The seminar was attended by colleagues affiliated with the Warsaw institution as well as other Polish academics and online participants.
The topics covered included citizen participation, gender parity, the crisis of representative institutions, political polarisation and radicalisation and the problems of deliberation revealed during constitution-making. The approach was comparative as these challenges are common to many countries that are in the process of attempting to introduce constitutional reform such as Poland and the Netherlands.
