Op-ed by Christa Tobler on EU Law Live about intersectionality in the KlimaSeniorinnen judgment
EU Law Live is holding an online symposium on the theme of 'Climate Protection as a European Fundamental Right under the ECHR', with staggered online contributions.
Within this context, Christa Tobler published a contribution on the issue of whether the applicants’ strategy of relying on the older women's specific susceptibility to climate change had an impact on the Court’s finding of admissibility of the action by the Verein KlimaSeniorinnen Schweiz association. While the case was still pending, it was argued in academic articles that the case was unique for its intersectional aspects.
