New LL.M. in Governance of Migration and Diversity (GMD-Legal) starting September 2024

Starting in September 2024, the Europa Institute will host a new LL.M. on the Governance of Migration and Diversity [GMD].

The LL.M. will provide students with advanced knowledge of the legal aspects of migration, asylum, non-discrimination, ‘integration’ and diversity, while, at the same time, offering insights from different academic disciplines. The curriculum of the new LL.M. consists of legal courses at the law school in Leiden and courses in sociology, history, and political sciences on the governance of migration and diversity at Erasmus University in Rotterdam and the History Faculty in Leiden as part of the overarching multidisciplinary programme ‘Governance of Migration and Diversity’ [GMD] run by the Universities of Leiden, Delft and Rotterdam [Erasmus].

Upon completion of the LL.M., students will receive an LL.M. degree and, depending on their prior bachelor qualification, will obtain ‘civil effect’ in the Netherlands and thus be able to access the Dutch bar.

The programme will be coordinated by Moritz Jesse (Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law / MIND-EU project]. For further information, please click here or contact us under GMD-legal@LAW.leidenuniv.nl.
