LUMC Campus The Hague launches new MOOC Population Health: Study Design
What is involved in setting up and carrying out clinical research? To give researchers a helping hand, LUMC Campus The Hague has brought together tips and tricks in the new massive open online course (MOOC) Population Health: Study Design.
The MOOC is offered for free on Coursera and has been developed by the Clinical Epidemiology department of Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). Population Health: Study Design is one of a series of e-learning courses on Population Health Management published by LUMC Campus The Hague.
The methodological course is suitable for anyone involved in clinical research. For example, the course explains which study design is most appropriate for your research question, how to calculate an odds ratio and what method you can use to prevent bias and confounding. Each module consists of videos, readings, mathematical problems and self-assessment tests.
The course can be done completely online, you can start at any time and there are no deadlines. Are you a student, PhD student or research nurse? If so, don’t wait to register for the course on the Coursera website. The e-learning programme is also suitable for more experienced researchers and professors, who might be in need of a refresher course.
