Attendance, absence and illness of students and tutors

Attendance

Attendance rules for the various courses can be found in the prospectus.

Absence: student

In case of an absence, the students must inform their tutor or seminar leader in advance. In case of an absence of a longer period the students must also contact the Coordinators of Studies. Absence does NOT change the deadlines nor exempt the student from an activity. More information on the procedures of notification on absence can be found in the Tutor manual.

Personal issues of students

Students with personal issues can be referred to the Coordinators of Studies. If a student has personal circumstances that you need to know of, you will be notified by the coordinator of studies.

Absence/ illness: tutorial lecturers

In the unfortunate situation of you falling ill, and not being able to teach your class, please contact your own institute and the Student Information Desk (070-8009302/9303/9424) as soon as possible before the lecture starts. The student administration will place an announcement on the website and will send an email to all relevant students.

For tutorial lecturers: please cc Paula Jordão in your e-mail. If you have to cancel a class at the last minute: place an announcement on Brightspace as soon as possible to inform your students. Then call the reception of the building you were supposed to teach and ask them to put a note on the door of the class room.
