10th Congress of the International Society for Arabic Papyrology (ISAP)

The 10th ISAP Congress aims to bring together scholars working on papyri and related documentary sources in Arabic, Coptic, Greek, Pahlavi and other languages from the Late Antique and early Islamic Near East in order to foster dialogue between philology, papyrology, and historical research.

About the conference

The 10th ISAP congress will be held at Leiden University (22 to 25 March 2027) and will be dedicated to showing how papyrological materials can be used to illuminate broader historical questions and debates in Islamicate history.

Practical Information

Only ISAP members can participate in the ISAP congress. To sign up as ISAP member, plesae see hereThere will be a limited number of grants available to support the participation of scholars whose institutions provide no or insufficient financial support. Information on how to apply for a grant will be provided after a paper has been accepted.
