Get a taste of Security Studies
Terrorism, cybercrime, natural disasters and other issues affect the security and safety of millions of people every day. In the English-taught bachelor’s programme Security Studies, you will learn to understand these security challenges by looking at the political, historical, and social context in which they appear. You will also explore how governments, institutions, and the media influence responses to these issues. This programme helps you develop an academic perspective and the skills to think critically about complex security problems.
Curious to find out if this programme is right for you? Join our Experience Day on Saturday 11 April. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend and learn more about the programme and the opportunities it offers.

Skills lab
After the sample lecture on risk perception, you will participate in an interactive Skills Lab. Here, you will apply the concepts from the lecture by analysing how individuals, organisations, and societies perceive and respond to different security threats. Through practical exercises and group tasks, you will examine real-world cases where perception, rather than facts alone, shaped decision-making and crisis responses.
The Skills Lab also allows you to practise essential academic and professional skills such as critical thinking, research, collaboration, presentation, and reflection — all central to the Bachelor in Security Studies. This session gives you a hands-on experience of studying Security Studies, demonstrating how students actively analyse complex global security challenges and develop informed strategies to address them.
