During the NEAR-ER Summer School, students will explore the foundations of and critically examine the relations between Africa and Europe, including regional cooperation and integration. The programme encompasses various disciplinary perspectives such as history, law, politics, economics, international relations, area studies, cultural studies, and linguistics. The School will include lectures, workshops, group work, and study visits. The final day will feature a tailored academic conference in which students present their own research and receive expert feedback.
NEAR-ER brings together scholars, policymakers, and students through a series of eight in-person events designed to foster dialogue, collaboration, and academic exchange on Europe-Africa relations. These events include three annual conferences, three NEAR-ER Dialogues, and two summer schools, each offering unique opportunities for engagement.
