A fun challenge full of energy, teamwork and good vibes? On Saturday 21 June 2025, the Leiden Science Run was back!

To celebrate 450 years of Leiden University, we ran in teams of four through the vibrant Leiden Bio Science Park – 4.5 km per runner. And you could be part of it!

For everyone – from serious runners to social joggers

Whether you're a regular runner or just in it for a fun day with colleagues or friends, the Leiden Science Run is for everyone. With a team of four, lace up your running shoes and raise funds for the LUF Children's Fund. It was the perfect mix of sport, teamwork and doing something meaningful!

Run through the heart of the Leiden Bio Science Park

You ran right through the innovation hub that is the Leiden Bio Science Park, with the final stretch ending at the lively Rosalind Franklin Square. It was a unique opportunity to experience the park in a whole new way – alongside students, staff, researchers, alumni and many more.

Running for the LUF Children's Fund

As we celebrate this special anniversary, we’re not just looking back – we’re focusing on the future. The Leiden Science Run supports the LUF Children’s Fund, which helps vulnerable young people facing mental health issues, serious illness or unsafe home environments. By taking part, you helped give them a brighter future.
