Tugay's research focuses on the philosophy of religion, the philosophy of science, and Islamic philosophy. I am particularly interested in how scientific and religious explanations relate to one another, how claims about reality and knowledge are justified, and how philosophical arguments for the existence of God are formulated and assessed. His work also explores scientific realism and anti-realism, religious language, and the interaction between metaphysics, epistemology, and theology. In addition, he studies classical Islamic philosophy, particularly Ibn Sīnā and Ibn Rushd, as well as the reception and transformation of Greek philosophical and scientific traditions in the Islamic intellectual world. Through these areas, he aims to understand how different intellectual traditions approach fundamental questions about reality, knowledge, explanation, and religion.
