Tressia is a joint PhD candidate with a keen interest in aquatic invasions, the impact of climate change on the distribution of invasive aquatic species, and the interactions between mosquitoes and plants.
Professional experience
Tressia completed her master’s degree in Botany at Rhodes University in South Africa, where she focused on the effects of biological control on two invasive species. Her master’s research deepened her interest in invasion ecology, driving her to further explore this field.
Research topic
Tressia's current research explores the impact of invasive aquatic plants on mosquito communities in both the Netherlands and South Africa.
