Fields of interest
I am interested in cross-linguistic variation in semantics, with a particular interest in the mass/count distinction.
Research
My research is part of the NWO project "On the representation of quantity: how our brains shape language", led by Prof. J.S. Doetjes.
I am investigating the expression of quantity in the nominal domain, with a particular focus on the mass/count distinction. I am currently working on a cross-linguistic database of quantity expressions. I am particularly interested in those expressions which only combine with mass (or count) nouns, and what they tell us about both the expression of quantity in different domains and the denotation of nouns in different languages.
