Rhea Roy Mammen (PhD, Law India) is an affiliated researcher at the Van Vollenhoven Institute (VVI). Her research explores different areas of implementing experiential legal education and engaging law school clincis to ensure access to justice. Dr. Mammen's main research interest lies in strengthening legal education. In addition to legal education, she is also interested in international human rights law and environment law.   

Prior to joining the VVI, Dr. Mammen worked as an Assistant Professor of Law, in India and participated in some international projects,  namely the UNDP Project on Biodiversity and the Paris Convention, India’s response to Climate Change. Dr. Mammen also received the Indo-Canadian shastri fellowship for research in Canada and the Linnaeus-Palme fellowship in Sweden.  

Dr. Mammen  has an academic background in Law, LLB (Hons) (CUSAT, Gold Medal), LLM (human rights Law, NLSIU) and PhD (Law) (A Study of Experiential Legal Education India). Her publications include legal education, experiential learning, and access to justice.
