Philip Brandner is a PhD Candidate in the unit of Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University.
Philip studied history and biology in Austria before completing his research master in Neuroscience from Utrecht University. During his masters he worked on brain development in twins and later on face perception in epilepsy at Rockefeller University in New York.
Research
Philip started as a PhD candidate at the Brain & Development research center in Leiden in December 2017. He investigates the underlying neural architecture of prosocial development in children and adolescents. Especially of cooperative social scenarios and the influences of the parents on individual differences in children's brain development and behavior.
This longitudinal research project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Eveline Crone and Prof. Dr. Berna Güroğlu.
Teaching
Philip teaches courses for Bachelor and Master students in Psychology.
