Professional experience
Nina has a Bachelor's degree in archictecture and building sciences at TU Delft. In 2023, Nina graduated from the joint Master's program Industrial Ecology at Leiden University and TU Delft. During her Master's she specialized in life cycle assessment (LCA), and investigated social life cycle assessment (S-LCA) as a tool for product focused social impact assessment by comparing S-LCA with purely qualitative social assessment approaches.
Research topic
My research will be focusing on the development of a practical approach by applying risk assessment (RA), life cycle assessment (LCA) and social life cycle assessment (S-LCA) in a combined form, applicable to early product design stages. The assessment will focus on potentially negative environmental and social impacts of substances of concern in a specific product context over its entire life cycle and long-term horizon, and to map potential trade-off effects of alternative designs. The PhD is part of the NWA 'Safe-by-Design Circular Products' project
