Nina Tobsch has been working as a PhD Candidate since September 2022, jointly at the Department of Jurisprudence at the University of Amsterdam and the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology at Leiden University. Her research focuses on the relationship between the culture of an organization and the misconduct within it – more specifically, she studies the link between police departmental culture and police brutality.

Nina obtained her bachelor’s in criminology at the University of Leiden in 2018 and went on to pursue a double master’s degree in Forensic Criminology and Crime & Criminal Justice, which she completed in 2021. During her studies, she interned at several research projects, and wrote her theses on the link between visitation in prison and the psychological wellbeing of inmates, and on the link between organizational characteristics and corporate misconduct.
