Nikos Fragkos is a PhD Researcher at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS), specializing in the intersection of artificial intelligence and the agri-food sector. His research focuses on developing 4D data frameworks and utilizing multi-modal imaging fusion, specifically combining 3D X-ray and optical data. Through the application of deep learning to non-destructive testing, his goal is to accurately predict the physiological parameters of fruit. Prior to joining Leiden University, he completed his MSc in Data Science for Food and Health at Wageningen University & Research, where his thesis focused on utilizing artificial intelligence and citizen science to combat food fraud. His foundational academic background includes an Integrated MSc in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development from the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA).
