Nicolas Navarre is a PhD student in Industrial Ecology whose work is grounded in evaluating the impact of innovations within larger systems.
Nicolas graduated from Leiden University in 2020, where he obtained his MSc. in Industrial Ecology. His thesis developed a fate and transport model of copper pesticides in vineyards, along with a fungus germination model to optimize application frequencies and dosages. He also received an MEng. degree in Environmental Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 2015. Prior to working at CML, Nicolas worked as environmental consultant, where he specialized in groundwater and surface water treatment processes.
His PhD research focuses on modeling the impacts of innovations throughout the food system.
This research will enable us to evaluate food system innovations at an early stage in order to avoid costly investments and lock-ins, and minimize risks which may affect the future environmental sustainability of the system.
