Research
My research focuses on application of AI-driven and computational techniques to the recognition and analysis of signs in print dictionaries of sign languages. Paper based sign language dictionaries provide valuable insights into sign language lexicons. However, their static nature has posed challenges for automated analysis and comparison. Consequently, they have been overlooked in sign language recognition research where technology relies predominantly on video data. To address this gap, I am exploring how to develop methods for analysing signs in static images (photographs or drawings) as well as textual descriptions found in print dictionaries.
