Mark Neijssel holds an MSc in Bio-organic Chemistry from the University of Amsterdam. Since 1999, he has worked in a range of commercial roles within contract research organizations serving the (bio)pharmaceutical industry. Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of science and commerce, with particular emphasis on contract research, research valorization, and academia-industry collaboration.

He served as Business Development Manager at TNO, a leading Dutch applied research institute, and later at Cardialysis, a spin-off from the Erasmus University Medical Centre specializing in cardiovascular clinical research.

At CWTS, Mark is responsible for the business development and acquisition of services and training courses. He works closely with our clients to discuss their needs and translate these into tailored projects that range from research evaluation studies to network- and science mapping analyses, as well as (tailor-made) training courses. These services are supported by the scientific expertise of CWTS, which ensures alignment with the latest developments in scientometric analyses and research evaluation practices.
