Maria Rebrean is a PhD researcher at eLaw - Center for Law and Digital Technologies, where she investigates the impact of artificial intelligence systems on (human) vulnerability. Her work is part of RESOCIAL, an interdisciplinary research project that uses a participatory approach to explores the impact of digital technologies on human vulnerability and assesses the adequacy of current legal protections.

Maria holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and two Master's degrees from Leiden University (MSc Law and Society and Adv. LLM Law and Digital Technologies). Her academic background reflects a deep interest in the relationship between law and society, particularly the transformative effects of digital technologies on both. She maintains an ongoing interest in cross-disciplinary collaboration and mixed-method approaches in scientific research and knowledge dissemination.
