Research
My research examines Emicida’s AmarElo (2019) as a multimodal artistic production and micropolitical manifestation in contemporary Brazil. I analyse the album across songs, lyrics, videoclips, documentary, podcast material, interviews, and social media circulation. The project explores how sound, image, rhythm, and silence shape affect, perception, and political subjectivity. Its theoretical framework combines micropolitics, affect, decolonial thought, Black spatiality, colonial memory, and processes of territorialization and escape. Overall, the dissertation asks how AmarElo creates aesthetic and affective openings for survival, resistance, and collective transformation.
