Marco Verschoor is Assistant Professor in political philosophy.
Marco Verschoor (1980) is Assistant Professor in political philosophy. His main research interest lies in the field of normative democratic theory, with a special focus on the ‘democratic boundary problem’, which concerns the question as to what constitutes the legitimate demarcation of the political units within which democracy will be practiced. His broader research interests include social contract theory, as well as normative issues of immigration, secession, and political obligation. He is coordinator of the skills curriculum of the first year of the Political Science Bachelor (in Leiden), coordinator of all bachelor projects, and also teaches various courses in the field of political philosophy.
