Malcolm Fridlund is an expert on exoplanets, stellar and planetary formation, and especially on the kind of space instrumentation required to work in these fields
Malcolm Fridlund obtained his PhD at Stockholm Unviersity and worked at ESA for the next 25 years. He worked as a study and project scientist for scientific space missions of the European Space Agency between 1988 and 2013, when he retired. He was based at the ESTEC facility, Noordwijk the Netherlands. During the 25 years he worked on a number of studies and in the last 15 years he focussed on research aimed towards detecting planets orbiting stars other than the Sun. In 2010, he became Adjunct Professor at Leiden in Space Observations of Exoplanets.
