Lisa is researching how expectations and communication shape health, focusing on pregnant women’s expectations of childbirth and labour pain and how they relate to pregnant women's birth experiences.
In 2025 Lisa joined the Expecting Together project at the Department of Health, Medical and Neuropsychology. Through qualitative and quantitative methods, she investigates what realistic and unrealistic expectations pregnant women have regarding childbirth, labor pain, and pain management, as well as how expectations are addressed in interaction with maternity care professionals. The aim of her research is to improve maternity care by facilitating pregnant women’s positive, flexible, and realistic expectations.
