I am a PhD student in the research project The speaker in speech – the interdependence of linguistic and indexical information. This project investigates the relationship between linguistic and indexical information in speech to discover which features in the acoustic speech signal are highly speaker-specific and therefore useful in characterizing voices.

My subproject concerns the investigation of speaker-specificity of acoustic-phonetic features in a set of Dutch consonants, also as a function of speech channel (spontaneous face-to-face versus telephone conversations), syllabic position and simple, high-frequency syllables.
