Lara is researching culturally sensitive information provision in palliative care, focusing on patients who prefer non-disclosure or implicit communication about their diagnosis or prognosis, often from diverse cultural backgrounds. Lara's PhD project, funded by KWF, aims to develop a guideline and a blended learning module to train healthcare providers in delivering inclusive, patient-centered care. Through qualitative research and training evaluation, Lara seeks to enhance clinicians’ communication skills to reduce health disparities. The outcomes, including a guideline and training program, will be shared via Pharos and Amsterdam UMC Academy to support palliative care professionals.
