Professional experience

Kaushar received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 2018, where she double majored in Conservation and Biodiversity & Human Biology.

In 2021, Kaushar obtained her M.Sc. in Biology from McGill University. Her thesis comparatively investigated the utility and applicability of environmental DNA (eDNA) and environmental RNA (eRNA) in characterizing zooplankton biodiversity in freshwater ecosystems.

Following the completion of her M.Sc., in 2022 Kaushar worked as a Research Assistant at McGill University where she comparatively assessed the persistence and degradation dynamics of eDNA and eRNA based on genomic origin using metabarcoding methods.

Kaushar started as a PhD researcher/Junior Lecturer at the Institute of Environmental Sciences (CML) in January 2023.
