Research
I am a Geoscientist specializing in archaeo-geophysics, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and computer programming. My work focuses on the application of quantitative methods in archaeology and advanced geophysical data collection and processing techniques. I employ multi-method geophysical and remote sensing approaches including ground-penetrating radar (GPR), magnetometry, electromagnetic induction (EMI), electrical resistance, down-hole techniques, and unmanned-aerial vehicle (UAV) techniques (SfM/Lidar). My dissertation work focused on distance estimation to archaeological magnetic source bodies from magnetometry data. Beyond geophysics, I have experience in most technology used in archaeology including GIS, GNSS/total station, digital data collection methods, close-range photogrammetry/3D modeling. I am an advocate for the use of Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS), and I enjoy coding geoscience-based tools for archaeological applications.
