My research primarily concentrates on the relations between the Islamicate world and Byzantium, with particular emphasis on Fatimid-Byzantine exchanges. I am interested in investigating how the Ismaili doctrine and its imperial ideology influenced Fatimid policies towards the Byzantine Empire, as well as its Sunni counterparts, and vice versa. I am also interested in the history of the Medieval Mediterranean and Arabic manuscripts.
