George Dikaios is a Marie Curie Fellow at the Institute of Political Science of Leiden University. His project is titled ‘Climatization of EU Policies: The Case of Maritime Transport’ (climt.eu). His research and teaching revolve around policymaking, climate policies & diplomacy, maritime transport policies, and sustainable (blue) development.

He has studied political science at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and Leiden University. Before joining Leiden University, George was a lecturer and postdoctoral researcher at NKUA, affiliated with the Department of Port Management & Shipping and the Department of Political Science & Public Administration. He is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the UNESCO Chair on Climate Diplomacy (at NKUA) and the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). His book, EU Climate Diplomacy towards the IMO and ICAO, is published by Palgrave Macmillan (2024).
