Georgiana is particularly interested in research on creativity at different levels of analysis, understanding how individuals, teams and organizations process information and collaborate to get to creative outcomes. Her research so far has enriched the understanding of the phenomenon of creativity at the individual and team level by delving deeper into how cognitive styles influence creativity. This particular research line is more ‘exploitative’ and is embedded in a long and rich tradition of studying creativity of individuals and teams. Her research has also enriched the understanding of the less studied phenomenon of creativity at the organizational level. This particular line of research is more ‘explorative’ and it focuses on the impact of particular internal and external factors on the ability of organizations to generate creative outcomes. To address these scientific objectives, Georgiana has conducted experimental research and also relied on survey data on SME companies.
Her previous teaching responsibilities involved taking the roles of first supervisor and second assessor for Master’s theses and was also one of the Instructors for the specialization course Strategy & Innovation Management, bachelor level, at the Department of Innovation Management and Strategy, Faculty of Economics and Business at University of Groningen. During this course students gained insights about the process of innovation and innovation management, learning about theoretical perspectives while also being exposed to the trajectory from the initial idea to new product.
Being involved in the BAIS program, as a Lecturer, Georgiana is very enthusiastic and committed while teaching courses for 1st year and 2nd year bachelor students (e.g., Economics, Sociolinguistics, Cultural Interaction).
