Gen is interested in exploring questions about what it means to rehearse (and plan) the future of our urban waterbodies with humans and non-humans in mind.
Professional experience
In 2022, Gen completed his BSc in Fisheries at the University of the Philippines. Shortly after, he worked as a UX Researcher, focusing on how to design user-centered services. In 2023, he moved to the Netherlands to pursue a Research Master in Spatial Sciences (Islands and Sustainability) at the University of Groningen. During this time, Gen worked with organizations such as Canon, the Global Center on Adaptation, PlanetReimagined, and Deltares.
Research topic
Gen’s PhD mainly focuses on answering questions related to taking a just, long-term, more-than-human perspective in the design, implementation, and monitoring of nature-based solutions in urban waterbodies. More details will be shared soon.
