Fatemeh Khodadust is a Postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Sylvestre Bonnet at the Leiden Institute of Chemistry (LIC). Her PhD thesis explored how angiogenesis can be targeted and visualized to better understand inflammation and evaluate new therapies. During this work, she gained experience with a wide range of laboratory and imaging methods, from 3D cell culture and microscopy to preclinical imaging in disease models. Over the years, she has also worked with radiotracers and tumor models, which strengthened her interest in combining biology with imaging to study disease processes. Her work has resulted in several peer-reviewed publications. At LIC, she brings this interdisciplinary background to advance photoactivated chemotherapy for uveal melanoma, working on treatment evaluation and optimization in preclinical PDX model.
