My research focuses on investigating the chemistry involved in the beneficial interactions between plants and their endophytic bacterial community.
Research
My project aims to identify the bioactive compounds that beneficial endophytic-bacteria use to protect its host plants against pathogenic fungal-attacks. It also aims to identify chemical cues that activate biosynthetic gene clusters in the microbe natural environment that are typically silent under routine laboratory conditions. The techniques applied include Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) based metabolomics and MS/MS based molecular networking.
