Professional Experience
Daniëlle van der Burg received his BSc in Biology at the University of Leiden in 2021. She examined the effect of anthropogenic noise and a live crab predator on blue mussels in her bachelor research project. She went on to study Freshwater and Marine Biology at the University of Amsterdam, and graduated in 2024. Her master’s projects included exploring deep sea calcium carbonate dissolution from pteropod shells and investigating the relationship between read abundance and morphological count data of calcifying zooplankton in a DNA metabarcoding project.
Research topic
Daniëlle’s research topic includes investigating the effects of agrochemical pollution on ecosystem-level, with an interest in ecosystem functioning. Her PhD project entails a large-scale mesocosm experiment in the Levend Lab facilities to gather data for a carbon cycling model.
