Biography

Daniel Vale is an external PhD candidate at eLaw - Center for Law and Digital Technologies.  He has a B.A. in Behavioural Science and Statistics from University College Utrecht, Utrecht University, and a LL.B. from the University of Cape Town. He also holds an LL.M. in Law and Digital Technologies from Leiden University and is an admitted attorney. Having worked at corporate law firms and as a consultant, Vale has practical legal and commercial experience in the fields of data protection, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and commercial litigation. 

Research

Vale's research is primarily limited to the legal and commercial issues surrounding the use of machine learning (artificial intelligence) in the finance and banking sectors, particularly from a MLOps perspective. However, he also writes in the domains of electronic communications law and social theory.
