Professional experience
Since 2025, Chloe is postdoctoral at CML. Her research focuses on environmental pollution and its effects on wildlife, biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. She is particularly interested in how pollutants move through ecosystems, and how species traits and ecological characteristics influence exposure and vulnerability.
Chloe is involved in the Horizon project Terrachem, where she investigates how chemical pollution can affect functional diversity and ecosystem services.
She completed her PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of Alcalá in 2025 (Cum Laude), where she investigated microplastic exposure in wild birds, including birds of prey from urban and rural environments. Her research combined field sampling, contaminant analysis and ecological approaches to understand pollution in wildlife.
Research topic
Chloe’s research aims to understand how environmental pollutants move through ecosystems, which species are most exposed, and what this means for biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. She combines field-based research, contaminant analysis and ecological approaches to investigate the effects of pollutants such as metals, microplastics and pesticides.
