Bob van Knippenbergh is a functional application manager at the Science Teacher Support Desk (SEEDS). He ensures that applications for the education at FWN are available, and that they meet the needs of users. To do this, he conducts interviews with users to find out requirements and wishes, and he describes related processes. This can result in modifications to existing applications, or the purchase of new applications. He maintains contacts with external suppliers of FWN educational applications. He also manages the documentation system Confluence and the ticketing system TOPdesk for SEEDS.
Bob has been working at Leiden University since 2022 as functional manager of FWN educational applications. In this role, he contributed to the preparation of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and the purchase of LaTeX editor Overleaf, among other things. Bob also contributes to organizing knowledge and processes within SEEDS/SOSZ by managing the Confluence documentation system, among other things.
Previously, Bob has worked as a business analyst, software developer, Data Protection Officer (DPO); and at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as institutional researcher, and on the introduction of a new Student Information System.
The common thread in his work is identifying needs, applying structure, and bridging the gap between users and (information) systems. This entails describing processes, describing requirements and wishes, creating functional designs, documentation, or communication with external suppliers.
