Teaching experience

After completing the Research Master Middle Eastern Studies (cum laude) at Leiden University in 2015 with the thesis ‘Heterotopian Cyber-Spaces of Deviation in the Islamic Republic visible performances of gender- and sexual mobility’ I started teaching at Utrecht University in the Religious Studies Department. I taught courses on Islam, and Colonialism and Post-Colonialism around the Mediterranean Sea.

Within the BAIS program, I give the tutorials Introduction to Area Studies and Global History.

Extra-curricular interests

In my free time I enjoy doing sports, discovering new places and trying different cuisines.
