Research

Hudson is a researcher in the project 'E-learning Suicide Prevention'. This is a module to help clinicians improve their skills for suicide prevention. The module is given to bachelor, master, and post-master students of Psychology. Hudson helps with the evaluation of the module. The module is for example evaluated by asking students about their self-rated competence, how they feel if they would experience increased risk of suicide in patients, or for people that already had experience with suicidal patients in their career, if the module has helped them dealing with this. This evaluation is done with quantitative research methods, such as a (quasi-)RCT and qualitative research methods, such as focus groups.

Short CV

Hudson finished her research master in Psychology with a major in Clinical Psychology and a minor in Social Psychology at the University of Amsterdam in 2015. After this, she pursued a PhD at Ghent University on the long-term effect of childhood maltreatment on social functioning (specifically theory of mind) in adulthood. She investigated this using the Implicit Theory of Mind task. For this study she used fMRI, MRI and behaviour function techniques. As she took a hiatus from her PhD, she is in the process of finishing up the track right now (2024). During her hiatus, she worked as a data scientist at a digital mental health care company in Amsterdam.
