Research

In my PhD thesis “Policy vs Practice. The Development of Language Use, 1750-1850”, which is part of the NWO-funded VIDI project “Going Dutch. The Construction of Dutch in Policy, Practice and Discourse (1750-1850)”, I will examine the effectiveness of Dutch language-in-education policies around 1800 through a corpus-based analysis of its influence on actual language use.
