research topic

Ana’s research topics are related with the application of circular economy, sustainability, and life cycle-based approaches to evaluate the different potential alternative biorefinery-based production process related with agricultural, forestry and food sectors, focused on proposing new waste management valorization routes. Large-scale modelling and definition of multi-criteria approaches, based on sustainability and circularity, are also part of my research line, aiming to evaluate the potentiality and feasibility of bio-technological and biorefinery scenarios. She also has worked with planetary boundaries perspective and Green Chemistry analysis, aiming to broader life cycle perspective and assessing the scenarios by using alternative frameworks. At present, her main objective is to combine my background knowledge with Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design framework, and also with prospective LCA, looking for achieving a combine method to effectively assess bio-based processing scenarios.
