Alice joined CML as a Postdoctoral researcher in the Industrial Ecology department in November 2025. She works in the Lasers4MaaS project, and her research focuses on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and the circular economy.
Professional experience
Alice received her PhD in Economics, Management, and Statistics from the University of Messina in March 2025. Her doctoral research adopted a life cycle thinking perspective to support cosmetic companies in their transition towards sustainability and circularity, with a particular focus on the application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). After completing her PhD, Alice worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Messina, applying LCA to waste management systems. During this period, she spent six months at CML as a visiting Postdoc under the supervision of Prof. Jeroen Guinée, where she further strengthened her expertise in LCA.
Research topic
Alice works in the Lasers4MaaS project, which aims to develop data exchange protocols and decision-support tools for sustainable and circular manufacturing. Within the project, she is responsible for data collection and LCA analyses to support the integration of environmental information into digital twins and Digital Product Passports. Beyond the project, her research focuses on advancing the methodological development and application of LCA, with a particular interest in prospective and ex-ante approaches.
