Alfredo Yegros is a researcher at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University in the Netherlands. Alfredo Yegros has an MSc in Library and Information Science (2002) – Universitat de València and Universitat Politècnica de València and he holds a PhD in Documentation, Universitat Politècnica de València (2012). Within the framework of his PhD he visited the Science and Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex.
Before joining CWTS, Alfredo held several positions during 10 years at the Institute for Innovation and Knowledge Management INGENIO (CSIC-UPV), supporting and conducting research in the fields of science and innovation systems as well as conducting bibliometric studies for a wide range of clients, chiefly public administrations from several Spanish regions.
Alfredo review articles on a regular basis for several international scientific journals, including Scientometrics, Research Evaluation, Revista Española de Documentacion Cientifica and Science and Public Policy.
His current research revolves around quantitative studies of science and technology. More specifically, the analysis of public-private research interactions and knowledge flows, the study of science-technology linkages, and the study of methods potentially able to capture societal impact of scientific research are some of his research interests.
