More information about Alexandre Morin

Alexandre Morin is an Assistant Professor of Physics at the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION) at Leiden University. He completed his PhD from École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France in 2018 on ’’Collective motion in challenging environments’’ under the supervision of Prof. Denis Bartolo. Between 2018 and 2020, he joined the Molecular Dynamics Institute at New York University and the Physics Department at University California San Diego as a Postdoctoral researcher. Since 2020, he is group leader at Leiden where his lab is part of the Bio and Soft Matter Physics programme. His group aims at highlighting the connection between the collective structures and dynamics of soft materials and the properties of their building blocks, in equilibrium, driven, or active settings. The lab currently focuses on the design and study of synthetic active matter systems using experimental techniques from the colloidal to the macroscopic scales as well as computational tools.
