Short CV

Laura obtained her master's degree in Child and Youth Psychology with a distinction from the University of Leiden in August 2023. During her master’s, she completed her clinical internship at the Child and Youth Medical Psychology department of the Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis in Delft. She wrote her thesis on social anxiety in children under the supervision of Dr. Anke Klein for which she spent a few months at the Center for Emotional Health at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. While writing her thesis, she also helped with the project: “The combination of one-session treatment with an app for treating children with a specific phobia” (KibA, Kinderen bedwingen Angst) supervised by Annelieke Hagen. During her studies, Laura also volunteered for the Kindertelefoon, she was a supervisor at high schools and worked for the Master Recruitment Team at Leiden University. 

In September 2023, Laura started as a junior researcher in the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology at Leiden University. Laura works under the supervision of Dr. Anke Klein as a project leader for the study “More than the sum of it’s parts: investigating the parts of a combined parent-child treatment for children with social anxiety” (ISA, Intervention for Social Anxiety). She also works as a daily coordinator for the Knowledge Center for Anxiety and Stress in Youth. Finally, Laura started working as a psychologist since November 2023 at her previous internship, the Child and Youth Medical Psychology department of the Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis.
