More information about Aditree Amin

Aditree Amin is a bachelor's student from Bangladesh and a student assistant in the At Home Otherwise (AHO) research project. In this role, she provides administrative support to the research team and has helped organise the 'Unmaking and Remaking Heritage' International Workshop. She also coordinates the 'Tackling Heritage' group at Leiden University, which brings together people at different stages of their academic trajectory, primarily from CADS but also beyond, to read and discuss heritage-related topics, supporting critical conversations about heritage both within and outside the department through an anthropological lens.

Aditree pursued the People Planet Power (PPP) track offered by CADS and is currently completing the Media Making Movements (MMM) track. Inspired by conversations around heritage, she wrote her bachelor's thesis on the destruction of a statue of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Dhaka during the July Revolution of 2024, arguing that such acts should not be understood simply as erasure or rejection, but as part of ongoing and contested processes of memory-making.
